1. Keep away from moisture, dust, dirt – Wet carpets lead to mold and mildew growth. Moreover, wet wool starts rotting with a bad odor. Make certain the proper aeration of the carpet periodically.
2. Deodorizer – If you like to deodorize your carpets, avoid chemical-laden cleansers, and you can make your own with baking soda and few drops of essential oils.
3. Timely Vacuuming – Wool by its nature is a natural dust repellent. Vacuuming at least twice a week helps keep the carpet clean. Some carpets are more sensitive depending on the wool and should be vacuumed without a brush. If you see any thread, drop over the surface cut it with a scissor and do not pull it out.

4. Stain Cleaning on the carpet – In case of a drop or overspill on the carpet, place a blotting paper straightaway over it which will absorb it instantly. To cut back absorption into the pile, press the spot from the sides for increased removal. On rugged spots, try with a liquid comprising of an equal amount of water and white vinegar. Club soda is the best thinner for coffee stains and red wine; for grease stains its corn- starch; for candle wax the iron and transfer method.
5. Storage – Put a few pouches of silica gel in the roll to keep it dry while storing the carpet.
6. Protective Layering – For preventive maintenance, the rug can be secured by putting on a layer of Fabric Scotchgard, once in two months based on the usage.
